Save Our Gulf

As the disastrous Deepwater Horizon oil spill spreads along the Gulf Coast and threatens to cause lasting damage to land, water and wildlife resources, the design community has been looking for opportunities to help.

Fellow designer, Yaron Schoen took it upon himself to replace the logo on his site with this oil drop and fish crossbones. To help raise awareness and funds, he has asked fellow designers to do the same and has offered a download of the “Gulf War 2010″ logo.

Matthew Smith of Squared Eye has also jumped on board and is now selling these actionably fashionable Gulf War 2010 T-shirts, where 50% of the proceeds ($10 per shirt) will be sent directly to Save Our Gulf.

As a small way to contribute, I’ve decided to donate 10% of the fees from my next project to help out.

If you’d like to further aid in the clean up efforts of our Gulf, please consider donating to any of these worthy organizations - Oceana, Water Keeper’s Alliance, or the National Audubon Society – or just help spread the good word by downloading Yaron’s logo and placing it on your site.
